Sometimes my son is such an adventurous eater. He'll chow down on a whole shrimp, fearlessly chomping into shell, legs, and tail. Other times, we can't get him to eat macaroni and cheese or cereal. Or vegetables.
I'm currently reading Helen Dujardin's From Plate To Pixel. It's all about food photography and food styling. I tried using a white styrofoam board to bounce light onto the subject. Here is the bowl of shallots (top) with no bounce, (1) with the board about 12 inches away, and (2) about 4 inches away. The light source is from the right. Notice the reduction of the shadow on the left.
Someone about to go down for a second nap. This was taken with the speedlite, and the white balance is fine. Maybe the white balance gets thrown off only when I have the (rust red) couch in the shot.
Our tomato plants are finally bearing fruit! The seeds were given to us by a neighbor, and we have no idea what variety the plants are. Can't wait to watch them ripen.
