It's been raining for two days straight. We've had tornado warnings and watches all day. The sky was definitely looking green.

In honor of the Top Chef All Stars finale, the tyke sported this onesie.

My husband gave our son a faux hawk. Luckily, he only used water so it didn't stay for long.

March 27th

I made cupcakes today. And after several attempts, I successfully made swiss meringue buttercream. It is my new favorite frosting.


A cupcake thief also struck. Luckily, he got one before they were frosted.

Last post about Epcot. These are some pictures that I took of stuff other than topiaries.

March 25th

More topiaries from the Flower and Garden Festival. I found it very challenging to photograph some of them. Many were in direct sunlight, and sometimes the best angle to view them were not the best angle for lighting.


The topiaries are strategically placed around the park. The Beauty and the Beast characters were at France, Snow White and the Seven Dwarves were at Germany.


I thought Lightning McQueen would be by Test Track, but he was at the entrance to the World Showcase. I've heard whispers that Mater was supposed to be with Lightning, but maybe he hasn't grown to maturity yet.

March 24th

I have gone crazy over the Flower and Garden Festival at Epcot. I've been in previous years, but it seems like Disney has really stepped things up this year. There are a lot of new topiaries, like these characters from Toy Story 3.



The grounds are more gorgeous than ever, with all the new landscaping they have done. The next few posts will be from my visits there.

March 23rd

Took the tyke to the Science Center. He loved pretending he was in the cockpit of a space shuttle.

March 22nd

There is a beautiful amaryllis blooming in a bucket on our front walk. This thing is almost 3 feet tall, and has four blossoms opening up.

We got a lime tree from some friends. It already has a few teeny limes growing on it.

Today we paid our respects to my father. It was a simple and dignified memorial service.

Two of my favorite things to see: sleeping toddler, and snuggling with a teddy bear.

Ah, toddler-hood. At least it's pencil. There's also crayon all over the sliding glass door.

Oh, and I think I found a better food styling for the short ribs.

I've been trying for a while to make short ribs look appetizing. This is the best I could do. I'm trying to decide which picture has the best composition. Opinions?

We took the tyke to a little splash area at Citywalk. He loved running around and playing with the water.

Our cat hardly ever climbs up onto counters and tables. I think she was trying to hide.

Chai latte with soy milk. It helped me get through the drive home.

I saw this car stopped at a light. Even though it is a Chevy, it reminded me of the flying Ford Anglia used in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.

My husband replaced a toilet seat in the guest bathroom. He had a little helper.

March 5th

I went to the Festival of Chocolate today. Other than the mass of people, it was fun. Lots of chocolate treats, including a nutella and banana crepe.

Homegrown romaine lettuce. It tastes nothing like the lettuce from the store.
