Hubs and a friend were trying to recreate a coffee drink at a local shop. They used waaay too much cinnamon, and the thing tasted very bitter and gross.

128. May 9th
Hubs made me dinner for Mother's Day. This isn't the best shot of the steaks - a little blurry and the steak being seasoned is in the shadows. However, I like how the pepper falling from the grinder is visible.

We saw the hugest jasmine bush today. It was growing up a light pole. Tyler has almost outgrown the bjorn, so he now goes for walks in the backpack carrier.

Teething with a vengeance. We now feel two on the bottom gum, and one on the top. We've started freezing damp cloths for him to suck on.

Here are the cupcakes. Key lime coconut flavor. The icing came out a little too soft for my taste. They didn't quite survive the car ride.

I'm baking a cake that uses Lyle's Golden Syrup. It's a British thing. It has a pretty amber color, and tastes like a cross between honey and molasses.

The squirt hangs out with me when I teach lessons. He usually pays attention for about half the lesson, and then he starts fussing.

Here are a few more pictures of the stage lighting for the concert tonight. As our conductor said, "This is the closest some of us will ever get to being in a rock concert." Since most of us are classical musicians, I'd say he was right.

Here are some food purees we've made. We freeze them in an silicone ice cube tray. Each cube is 1 oz., which makes measuring easy. Can you guess the flavors?

A slight cheat - I took this picture on April 9th. The pollen count has been through the roof lately. This is the hood of my car. The yellow spots are pollen. Rain is in the forecast for today, so maybe some of the pollen will wash away, and I will be able to breathe through my nose again.
